What IS Fair Trade?


Fair Trade means that the workers are paid a fair price for their goods and their work. It enables them to work in a safe and healthy working environment and provides equal pay for both men and women. The work of the tradesmen is properly valued and rewarded and no one is taken advantage of or treated unfairly.

Pocket Leaf Notebook   £1.50
A pocket size notepad for you. The hardback covers are designed with natural Mulberry leaves. A twig pencil is also included, attached to the notebook with white string and natural paper tied in a bow. Open up the front cover and you will see approx 25 pages of plain double sided Mulberry paper. 






Leaf Notebook with 2 Pencils  £2.99
The spine of the book and half of the back and front covers are made of naturally dyed Mulberry paper. The rest of the book has a cream background peppered with speckles of dried leaves. The cover features two whole dried leaves. Open up the book and you will see 20 double sided plain Mulberry Tree pages ready for you to start recording your precious thoughts. The notebook set comes complete with TWO pencils.

It features a lovely patchwork effect of different shades of patterned natural barks on the cover, whilst the sides and back are a mixture of brown Mulberry paper and tree bark. Open up the notebook and you will see 20 double sided plain Mulberry Tree pages ready for you to start recording your precious thoughts. The set also comes with a twig pencil.








Floral Notebook with Wooden Pole   £4.99 
It features a dried flower arrangement of reds & pinks on the cover, whilst the sides and back are a mixture of cream tree bark with flower stems & leaves embedded. The top cover containing the dried flower arrangement mural is attached to the underside cover by way of a wooden pole. Sharpen the pole & it becomes a pencil. Slide out the pencil, open up the covers and you will see an attached notebook.

On the hardback cover is a 3D mounted plaque made of shiny brown resin, featuring 2 elephants- a father and his tiny baby.The rest of the cover and back is made from brown  Mulberry tree paper. What is Mulberry Paper?

Over 600 years ago in the mountains of Burma, the Karen Hill Tribe people found a remarkable bark that naturally peeled from the trunk of this tall broad leafed tree at the end of each rainy season. So began the craft of making natural paper without destroying or cutting down the tree. The Karen villagers called this The Mulberry Tree. For the last 100 years, Hill tribe paper makers have been practising their craft in neighbouring mountains. They still use natural dyes and lay their paper in the sun to dry as did their ancestors centuries ago. We have a large collection of unique and useful paper products made from this amazing and renewable resource. This has also spawned a thriving cottage industry which helps save and not depletee these tall, beautiful mountain trees.
