Toggle Writing Set  £5.99
This writing set has a blue mottled design on the front, sides and back. On the front you will see 2 large toggles made from dark natural bark, which keep your writing set fastened, secure & protected. Unfasten the toggles, open up the set and you will find a pouch containing 10 plain Mulberry paper envelopes. In a second pouch there are 10 sheets of plain writing paper.

Floral Writing Set  £5.99
The  cover & back of this exquisite set is cream and is embedded with dried flowers, leaves and pink petals. The fold over cover is green & is attached to the floral design by a wooden toggle carved into the shape of a tiny pencil. Unfasten the toggle, open up the 2 halves of the cover and you will find a complete writing set.

The hardback cover on this fantastic item is green with foreign symbols etched. There is a tiny moulded resin sculpture of an elephant alongside the words "Letter Set". The set is bound by green cord, tied into a knot. Inside, you will see 10 double sided plain Mulberry Tree sheets of paper, with 5 envelopes.

What is Mulberry Paper?


 Over 600 years ago in the mountains of Burma, the Karen Hill Tribe people found a remarkable bark that naturally peeled from the trunk of this tall broad leafed tree at the end of each rainy season. So began the craft of making natural paper without destroying or cutting down the tree. The Karen villagers called this The Mulberry Tree. For the last 100 years, Hill tribe paper makers have been practising their craft in neighbouring mountains. They still use natural dyes and lay their paper in the sun to dry as did their ancestors centuries ago. We have a large collection of unique and useful paper products made from this amazing and renewable resource. This has also spawned a thriving cottage industry which helps save and not depletee these tall, beautiful mountain trees.
